  • Who is Southwest POS?
    SWPOS has been around since 1975. Our niche is POINT OF SALE. We are not a "networking company", "accounting firm" or "PC repair shop" with extra time on our hands. We do POS. Our sales and technical staff combine to provide over 100 YEARS of point-of-sale experience. If you are looking for expertise, you have found some.

  • Who buys from Southwest POS?
    Because we have a strong service department, we have many regional clients who depend upon us to keep their systems running. Other clients are DIY (do-it-yourselfers) and rely upon our sales experience to provide them with the products they need.

  • What kinds of businesses do you provide systems for?
    We have systems for a very small businesses, like Mom and Pop stores, mall shops, liquor stores, clothing stores, hardware stores and other specialty retailers. We also have systems for independant grocery stores.

  • What types of grocery stores do you handle?
    SWPOS has products for small liquor/convenience stores to expanding, multi-store independent grocers.

  • What is the Cloud and what does it mean to me?
    For most of our lives, we have provided "premise based" software. With this model you BUY the software, you OWN the software, you UPDATE the software, you keep your DATABASE backed-up and you pay someone to help you with problems. The "Cloud" are resources that live in the Internet. With the Cloud, you RENT the software. Someone else updates your software, backs up the database, trains you and supports you... all included in the rental fee! It's like RENTING an apartment versus OWNING a house. But, now you have a choice.

  • Can SWPOS systems integrate with my web-store?
    Our main focus and expertise is on your "brick & mortar" store, but we can sell you a system that will naturally integrate with a web-store. No plans for a web-store now? Choose the right POS system now, and the web-store will be easier and cheaper to roll-out later.

  • Does SWPOS provide leasing?
    SWPOS works with a handful of leasing companies, or we will gladly work with yours. We will leave the financing specialists to do their thing, while we concentrate on your POS system.

  • Can SWPOS set me up with PCI compliant software?
    Absolutely! SWPOS only provides PCI Validated software and hardware solutions. Providing you with the products you need to be PCI compliant is very important and is the tenet that drives us daily. Read more about PCI Facts and Myths on our Home Page button.

  • What if I have an emergency?
    SWPOS wants your POS system to always run well. We will provide you with the option to have a Software and/or Hardware Maintenance contract once your warranty expires. We have a service fleet, service dispatchers, a parts warehouse, and years of experience supporting vital computer systems. We have a 24/7 bilingual answering service, on-call technicians, and the ability to do remote support.

  • Does SWPOS provide installation services?
    We are set up to provide "turn-key" systems to clients; this means that we can complete almost any task that is involved in launching a new POS system. Of course, we will work with other individuals you may already rely upon, such as accountants, I.T. specialists, distributors, contractors, carpenters and technicians, etc. If you don't need our services, that's OK, too.

  • Does SWPOS have any USED systems/equipment?
    Occasionally, we pickup used equipment from new customers or upgrades, but our preference is to sell the newest technologies and equipment.

  • How do I get a quote or bid?
    Simply contact us by phone or email, and we'll consult with you about what your requirements are.

  • How fast can a system be installed?
    Depending upon the complexity of your system, and our schedule, we can usually be pretty responsive.

  • Do you have a web-store?
    We prefer to personally consult with each prospect to assure that they are aware of options and issues relating to their purchase. Even purchasing something as simple as a POS printer can be a challenge if you are not exactly sure what options you need. We can ask the right questions, and get you set up correctly the first time.
